As part of the halal control and certification activities of the EML-Rina, President Alfredo Maiolese was invited to "Tutto Food" Fiera in Milan. The month of Ramadan has arrived and the President Amb.Alfredo Maiolese and Secretary-General Yvonne Ridley on behalf of everyone at the European Muslim League including our global ambassadors posted around the world, wish you all blessings, peace and joy. 

For Muslims everywhere, this glorious month presents us all with a time to reflect on our past, present and future as well as increase our awareness of God.

Ramadan involves fasting, prayers, charitable giving and doing good deeds usually in increased measure compared to the rest of the year.

This Ramadan we should all make an effort to reach out to those of other faiths and none in the spirit of togetherness. Muslims are under threat from rising Islamophobia while our Jewish cousins continue to feel the pain of anti-semitism and persecution of Christians continues.

In Europe, in particular, the rise of the far right continues to cause concern as they spread their toxic messages of hate and loathing.

Other minority groups are also being affected by hate crimes, targeted for nothing more than appearing to be different. That is why, in these trouble times, where worshippers are attacked for their faith while others are being set upon because of their skin colour, nationality or culture we must come together in the spirit of unity.

Building bridges and strengthening bonds should be the aim of European Muslims during this most holy of months. EML hopes this message of peace, love and understanding is embraced by all Muslims as we reach out to all of our neighbours regardless of their beliefs.
