The European Muslims League (EML) expresses its deep gratitude to H.E. Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, for the decisive role he played in the recent border crisis between Cambodia and Thailand, where tensions caused the loss of innocent lives and the displacement of thousands of civilians. Malaysia’s intervention, inspired by the principles of justice and mercy inherent in Islam, contributed to achieving a ceasefire and restoring hope for a peaceful resolution.

The Holy Qur’an reminds us: “And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also] and rely upon Allah” (Surah 8:61). The leadership of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim fully embodies this teaching, demonstrating how faith can guide political action towards the common good and the protection of human life.

As the European Muslims League, we reaffirm that peace and the protection of the vulnerable are moral responsibilities for every Muslim. The Cambodia‑Thailand crisis reminds us of the importance of diplomacy and mercy, values that must inspire every leader and every nation.

We pray that Allah continues to guide all Muslim leaders on the path of justice and peace, and we renew our commitment to promoting initiatives that unite peoples in brotherhood and faith.

Il Mondo al Contrario: Viviamo gli Ultimi Segni della Profezia

Guardando agli eventi che scuotono il mondo – guerre, ingiustizie, genocidi, crimini contro l’umanità – non possiamo fare a meno di ricordare le parole del Profeta Muhammad ﷺ, che ci ha avvertito di un tempo in cui i valori si sarebbero capovolti. Oggi viviamo esattamente questa realtà: il bugiardo viene creduto, il sincero viene accusato di menzogna, il traditore viene premiato e chi merita fiducia viene tradito.

Questi fenomeni non sono semplici episodi della storia: sono i segni di un’epoca di grande inganno, uno dei segnali che il Giorno del Giudizio si avvicina. È un richiamo per risvegliare le coscienze e ricordarci che la vita terrena è breve, e che il vero successo non si misura con denaro o fama, ma nella preparazione per l’Altra Vita.

Oggi, molti studiosi parlano di una vera e propria crisi dell’umanità. Alcuni la chiamano persino “distruzione dell’umanesimo”, intendendo che l’uomo ha perso il senso della propria dignità e della propria missione.

Viviamo in una società dominata dalla tecnologia e dall’intelligenza artificiale, dove il valore della persona viene ridotto a dati, algoritmi e produttività. La macchina sembra avere più importanza dell’uomo, e la tecnologia corre più veloce dell’etica.

Allo stesso tempo, i valori morali si sono indeboliti. Verità, giustizia e bellezza vengono spesso sacrificate agli interessi economici e al potere mediatico. Il relativismo ha lasciato molti senza punti di riferimento spirituali ed etici, mentre le culture locali e i legami comunitari si dissolvono in una globalizzazione frammentata, dove l’individuo è isolato e vulnerabile.

Anche la crisi sociale ed ecologica ci mostra quanto l’uomo abbia smesso di essere custode della Terra. Guerre, disuguaglianze e catastrofi ambientali rivelano che l’umanità non solo ha smarrito il senso di responsabilità, ma spesso è diventata distruttrice.

Infine, le correnti filosofiche moderne e postmoderne hanno contribuito a spegnere la speranza. Si nega l’esistenza di verità universali, persino sull’uomo stesso, e persino la dignità umana viene relativizzata, subordinata a interessi economici e politici. Quando alcuni arrivano ad affermare che le religioni sono semplici creazioni umane da modificare secondo le mode del tempo, vediamo chiaramente il segno di una crisi spirituale profonda.

Come musulmani, comprendiamo che la vera radice di questa crisi sta nell’aver voluto costruire l’uomo senza Dio. L’Islam ci insegna che la dignità dell’essere umano deriva dal suo legame con il Creatore, e che solo vivendo come khalīfa, custode della Terra e servitore di Allah, l’uomo può ritrovare la sua vera grandezza.

Per questo il nostro compito oggi è trasmettere ai giovani un messaggio chiaro: non lasciatevi ingannare dal luccichio di questo mondo. La vita terrena è breve, e la vera felicità sta nel mantenere salda la fede, seguire la giustizia e prepararsi all’eternità.

Looking at the events that shake the world – wars, injustices, genocides, crimes against humanity – we cannot help but remember the words of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who warned us of a time when values would be turned upside down. Today we are living exactly this reality: the liar is believed, the truthful is accused of lying, the traitor is rewarded, and those who are trustworthy are betrayed.

These phenomena are not just isolated events in history: they are signs of an age of great deception, one of the signals that the Day of Judgment is drawing near. It is a call to awaken consciences and remind ourselves that this worldly life is short, and that true success is not measured by money or fame, but in preparation for the Hereafter.

Today, many scholars speak of a real crisis of humanity. Some even call it “the destruction of humanism,” meaning that humankind has lost the sense of its own dignity and mission.

We live in a society dominated by technology and artificial intelligence, where the value of the human being is reduced to data, algorithms, and productivity. Machines seem to have more importance than humans, and technology runs faster than ethics.

At the same time, moral values have weakened. Truth, justice, and beauty are often sacrificed to economic interests and media power. Relativism has left many without spiritual and ethical reference points, while local cultures and community bonds are dissolving in a fragmented globalization, where the individual is isolated and vulnerable.

The social and ecological crisis also shows how humanity has ceased to be a guardian of the Earth. Wars, inequalities, and environmental catastrophes reveal that humanity has not only lost its sense of responsibility but has often become destructive.

Finally, modern and postmodern philosophical currents have contributed to extinguishing hope. The existence of universal truths is denied, even about humankind itself, and human dignity is relativized, subordinated to economic and political interests. When some go so far as to claim that religions are merely human creations to be modified according to the trends of the time, we see a clear sign of a deep spiritual crisis.

As Muslims, we understand that the true root of this crisis lies in trying to build humanity without God. Islam teaches us that the dignity of the human being comes from their connection to the Creator, and that only by living as a khalīfa – a custodian of the Earth and servant of Allah – can humankind rediscover its true greatness.

Our mission today is to convey a clear message to the youth: do not be deceived by the glitter of this world. This life is short, and true happiness lies in holding firmly to faith, following justice, and preparing for eternity.

العالم بالمقلوب: نحن نعيش آخر علامات النبوءة

عند تأمل الأحداث التي تهزّ العالم – من حروب وظلم وإبادات جماعية وجرائم ضد الإنسانية – لا يسعنا إلا أن نتذكر كلمات النبي محمد ﷺ الذي حذّرنا من زمن تنقلب فيه القيم. ونحن اليوم نعيش هذه الحقيقة بالضبط: يُصدَّق الكاذب، ويُكذَّب الصادق، ويُؤتمن الخائن، ويُخوَّن الأمين.

هذه الظواهر ليست مجرد حوادث عابرة في التاريخ، بل هي علامات على عصر الخداع العظيم، ومن الإشارات التي تدلّ على اقتراب يوم القيامة. إنها دعوة لإيقاظ الضمائر وتذكيرنا بأن الحياة الدنيا قصيرة، وأن النجاح الحقيقي لا يُقاس بالمال أو الشهرة، بل بالاستعداد للحياة الآخرة.

اليوم يتحدث كثير من العلماء عن أزمة حقيقية للبشرية. حتى إن بعضهم يصفها بأنها «تدمير للإنسانية»، بمعنى أن الإنسان فقد إحساسه بكرامته ورسَالته في هذا الوجود.

نعيش في مجتمع تهيمن عليه التكنولوجيا والذكاء الاصطناعي، حيث تقلّصت قيمة الإنسان إلى مجرد بيانات وخوارزميات وإنتاجية. أصبحت الآلة أكثر أهمية من الإنسان، وأصبحت التكنولوجيا تركض أسرع من الأخلاق.

وفي الوقت نفسه، ضعفت القيم الأخلاقية. الحقيقة والعدالة والجمال تُضحّى بها غالبًا من أجل المصالح الاقتصادية وقوة الإعلام. ترك النسبية كثيرًا من الناس بلا مرجعيات روحية أو أخلاقية، بينما تتفكك الثقافات المحلية والروابط المجتمعية في عولمة متشظية، حيث يصبح الفرد معزولًا وضعيفًا.

كما أن الأزمات الاجتماعية والبيئية تكشف مدى ابتعاد الإنسان عن كونه خليفة على الأرض. فالحروب، وعدم المساواة، والكوارث البيئية تظهر أن البشرية لم تفقد فقط إحساسها بالمسؤولية، بل أصبحت في كثير من الأحيان قوة مدمّرة.

وأخيرًا، ساهمت التيارات الفلسفية الحديثة وما بعد الحديثة في إطفاء الأمل. فصارت الحقائق الكونية وحتى حقيقة الإنسان نفسها محل إنكار، وأصبحت كرامة الإنسان نسبية وخاضعة للمصالح الاقتصادية والسياسية. وعندما يذهب البعض إلى حد القول إن الأديان مجرد اختراعات بشرية يجب تعديلها وفق أهواء العصر، فإننا نرى بوضوح علامة أزمة روحية عميقة.

ونحن كمسلمين نفهم أن الجذر الحقيقي لهذه الأزمة يكمن في محاولة بناء إنسان بلا إيمان بالله. فالإسلام يعلّمنا أن كرامة الإنسان تنبع من صلته بخالقه، وأنه لا يمكن للإنسان أن يستعيد عظمته إلا إذا عاش كخليفة في الأرض وعبدٍ لله عز وجل.

ولهذا، فإن مهمتنا اليوم هي أن ننقل للشباب رسالة واضحة: لا تنخدعوا ببريق هذا العالم. فالحياة الدنيا قصيرة، والسعادة الحقيقية تكمن في الثبات على الإيمان، واتّباع طريق العدل، والاستعداد للأبدية.

Le Monde à l’Envers : Nous Vivons les Derniers Signes de la Prophétie

En regardant les événements qui secouent le monde – guerres, injustices, génocides, crimes contre l’humanité – nous ne pouvons que nous rappeler les paroles du Prophète Muhammad ﷺ, qui nous a avertis d’un temps où les valeurs seraient inversées. Aujourd’hui, nous vivons exactement cette réalité : le menteur est cru, l’honnête est accusé de mensonge, le traître est récompensé et l’homme digne de confiance est trahi.

Ces phénomènes ne sont pas de simples épisodes de l’histoire : ce sont les signes d’une époque de grande tromperie, l’un des signes que le Jour du Jugement approche. C’est un appel à réveiller les consciences et à nous rappeler que la vie terrestre est brève, et que le véritable succès ne se mesure ni à l’argent ni à la célébrité, mais à la préparation pour l’Au-delà.

Aujourd’hui, de nombreux savants parlent d’une véritable crise de l’humanité. Certains l’appellent même la « destruction de l’humanisme », signifiant que l’homme a perdu le sens de sa dignité et de sa mission.

Nous vivons dans une société dominée par la technologie et l’intelligence artificielle, où la valeur de la personne est réduite à des données, des algorithmes et de la productivité. La machine semble avoir plus d’importance que l’homme, et la technologie avance plus vite que l’éthique.

En même temps, les valeurs morales se sont affaiblies. La vérité, la justice et la beauté sont souvent sacrifiées aux intérêts économiques et au pouvoir médiatique. Le relativisme a laissé beaucoup d’âmes sans repères spirituels et éthiques, tandis que les cultures locales et les liens communautaires se dissolvent dans une mondialisation fragmentée, où l’individu est isolé et vulnérable.

La crise sociale et écologique montre également à quel point l’homme a cessé d’être le gardien de la Terre. Guerres, inégalités et catastrophes environnementales révèlent que l’humanité a non seulement perdu le sens de la responsabilité, mais qu’elle est souvent devenue destructrice.

Enfin, les courants philosophiques modernes et postmodernes ont contribué à éteindre l’espérance. On nie l’existence de vérités universelles, même à propos de l’homme lui-même, et la dignité humaine est relativisée, soumise aux intérêts économiques et politiques. Lorsque certains en arrivent à affirmer que les religions ne sont que de simples créations humaines à modifier selon les modes du moment, nous voyons clairement le signe d’une crise spirituelle profonde.

En tant que musulmans, nous comprenons que la véritable racine de cette crise réside dans la volonté de construire l’homme sans Dieu. L’Islam nous enseigne que la dignité de l’être humain découle de son lien avec le Créateur, et que ce n’est qu’en vivant comme khalīfa, gardien de la Terre et serviteur d’Allah, que l’homme peut retrouver sa véritable grandeur.

C’est pourquoi notre devoir aujourd’hui est de transmettre aux jeunes un message clair : ne vous laissez pas tromper par l’éclat trompeur de ce monde. La vie terrestre est brève, et le vrai bonheur réside dans la constance de la foi, l’adhésion à la justice et la préparation à l’éternité.

El Mundo al Revés: Vivimos los Últimos Signos de la Profecía

Al observar los acontecimientos que sacuden al mundo – guerras, injusticias, genocidios, crímenes contra la humanidad – no podemos evitar recordar las palabras del Profeta Muhammad ﷺ, quien nos advirtió sobre un tiempo en el que los valores se invertirían. Hoy vivimos exactamente esa realidad: al mentiroso se le cree, al sincero se le acusa de mentir, al traidor se le recompensa y al hombre digno de confianza se le traiciona.

Estos fenómenos no son simples episodios de la historia: son señales de una época de gran engaño, uno de los signos de que el Día del Juicio se acerca. Es un llamado a despertar las conciencias y a recordarnos que la vida terrenal es breve, y que el verdadero éxito no se mide ni por el dinero ni por la fama, sino por la preparación para la Otra Vida.

Hoy, muchos estudiosos hablan de una verdadera crisis de la humanidad. Algunos incluso la llaman la “destrucción del humanismo”, entendiendo que el hombre ha perdido el sentido de su dignidad y de su misión.

Vivimos en una sociedad dominada por la tecnología y la inteligencia artificial, donde el valor de la persona se reduce a datos, algoritmos y productividad. La máquina parece tener más importancia que el hombre, y la tecnología avanza más rápido que la ética.

Al mismo tiempo, los valores morales se han debilitado. La verdad, la justicia y la belleza se sacrifican a menudo a los intereses económicos y al poder mediático. El relativismo ha dejado a muchos sin referencias espirituales y éticas, mientras que las culturas locales y los lazos comunitarios se disuelven en una globalización fragmentada, donde el individuo está aislado y vulnerable.

La crisis social y ecológica también nos muestra hasta qué punto el hombre ha dejado de ser guardián de la Tierra. Las guerras, las desigualdades y las catástrofes ambientales revelan que la humanidad no solo ha perdido el sentido de la responsabilidad, sino que a menudo se ha vuelto destructora.

Por último, las corrientes filosóficas modernas y posmodernas han contribuido a apagar la esperanza. Se niega la existencia de verdades universales, incluso sobre el propio ser humano, y la dignidad humana se relativiza, subordinada a intereses económicos y políticos. Cuando algunos llegan a afirmar que las religiones son simples creaciones humanas que deben modificarse según las modas del momento, vemos claramente el signo de una profunda crisis espiritual.

Como musulmanes, entendemos que la verdadera raíz de esta crisis está en haber querido construir al hombre sin Dios. El Islam nos enseña que la dignidad del ser humano proviene de su vínculo con el Creador, y que solo viviendo como jalīfa, guardián de la Tierra y siervo de Allah, el hombre puede reencontrar su verdadera grandeza.

Por eso, nuestro deber hoy es transmitir a los jóvenes un mensaje claro: no se dejen engañar por el brillo ilusorio de este mundo. La vida terrenal es breve, y la verdadera felicidad reside en mantener firme la fe, seguir la justicia y prepararse para la eternidad.

Defending Religious Freedom Means Defending Peace

Ambassador at Large and President of the European Muslims League (EML), H.E. Alfredo Maiolese, has expressed deep concern over the growing number of incidents of religious intolerance and persecution in various regions of the world.

“When a religious community is persecuted or a place of worship is desecrated,

it is not only an act against faith but an offense to the very dignity of humanity.

Defending religious freedom means defending peace,”

said Maiolese.

In recent months, international reports have highlighted:

Rising Islamophobia and antisemitism in Europe and North America

Attacks on churches and Christian communities in the Middle East and Africa

Restrictions on freedom of worship in several Asian countries

The European Muslims League (EML) calls on the international community, as well as religious and academic institutions, to:

1. Openly condemn all forms of religious persecution

2. Ensure the protection of places of worship and vulnerable minorities

3. Promote interfaith dialogue as a tool for peace

4. Cooperate at the diplomatic and legal level to safeguard freedom of faith everywhere

“Respect for religious freedom is the cornerstone of peaceful coexistence among peoples.

Where faith is silenced, sooner or later peace will also fade,”

concluded Maiolese.

The EML also announces the upcoming International Conference on Religious Freedom and Interfaith Dialogue, scheduled for Autumn 2025 in Rome, with the participation of religious leaders, academics, and institutional representatives from around the world.

A few days ago, in the Spanish town of Piera (Catalonia), a mosque was deliberately set on fire just before it was due to open to the public. Fortunately, no lives were lost. But the flames destroyed more than walls and carpets: they deeply wounded a peaceful community, sowed fear, and—above all—attempted to ignite division at the very heart of our shared coexistence.

As President of the European Muslims League – an organization inspired by the values of Islam and committed to dialogue and cooperation among peoples – I cannot remain silent.

I speak with respect to everyone: Muslims and Christians, atheists and agnostics, people born in Europe and those who have come from afar:

Why burn a place of worship? What is happening to us?

 There is No Justification for Hatred

We are aware that Europe is going through difficult times. Economic uncertainty, migration flows, and a widespread sense of insecurity have caused frustration. Some, mistakenly, look for scapegoats. But faith and honest immigration are never the enemy.

The arson attack on a mosque is not only a criminal act, but also a symbolic one. It is a dangerous signal that should concern not only Muslims, but all who cherish democracy, religious freedom, and civil coexistence.

There is no difference between setting fire to a mosque, a church, a synagogue, or a temple: each is an attack on the heart of our European civilization, built on peaceful plurality and mutual respect.

 Let’s Stop the Chain of Suspicion

To my Italian friend living in Spain who told me, “Spaniards don’t want immigrants anymore because they bring disorder,” I respond not with anger, but with facts.

The vast majority of immigrants – including Muslims – obey the law, work hard, contribute to the economy, and simply seek a dignified life. They are not the problem. In many cases, they are part of the solution: caregivers, workers, business owners, outstanding students.

Instead, extremist propaganda – whether it comes from those who attack Islam or those who distort its message to justify violence – feeds suspicion and hatred. And that is how fear turns into violence. And silence into fire.

 We Build, We Do Not Burn

The European Muslims League exists for one purpose: to build relationships, promote dialogue, and defend shared values. We condemn all forms of extremism and reaffirm that Europe cannot afford to accept hatred as a political strategy.

We call on the Spanish authorities to seek truth, justice, and to ensure the protection of all places of worship.

We call on the Muslim community to remain strong and wise: do not fall into the trap of revenge or generalized distrust.

And we call on European citizens of all faiths and backgrounds to walk together: let us not allow a few fanatics to ruin centuries of shared civilization.

 Conclusion: A Voice for Peace

Hatred divides. Respect unites.

Walls can burn. Bridges must be built.

We do not need more scapegoats. We need more conscience.

We do not need more enemies. We need more neighbors.

Let this fire, rather than destroy, remind us how precious peace truly is.

And how it is the responsibility of each and every one of us to protect it—every single day.

Pourquoi incendier un lieu de culte ? Construire des ponts, pas des bûchers

Il y a quelques jours, dans la ville catalane de Piera, en Espagne, une mosquée a été incendiée de manière délibérée, juste avant son ouverture au public. Heureusement, aucune vie n’a été perdue. Mais les flammes ont détruit bien plus que des murs et des tapis : elles ont blessé profondément une communauté pacifique, semé la peur et tenté d’embraser la coexistence elle-même.

En tant que Président de la Ligue Européenne Musulmane – organisation européenne inspirée par les valeurs de l’islam et engagée dans le dialogue et la coopération entre les peuples – je ne peux pas rester silencieux.

Je m’adresse avec respect à tous : musulmans et chrétiens, athées et agnostiques, citoyens nés en Europe ou venus d’ailleurs. Pourquoi incendier un lieu de culte ? Que nous arrive-t-il ?

Aucune justification à la haine

Nous savons que l’Europe traverse des moments complexes. Crise économique, flux migratoires, sentiment d’insécurité : tout cela engendre de la frustration. Certains, à tort, cherchent des boucs émissaires. Mais la foi ou l’immigration honnête ne peuvent jamais être l’ennemi.

L’incendie d’une mosquée est un acte criminel, mais aussi symbolique. C’est un signal dangereux qui doit alarmer non seulement les musulmans, mais tous ceux qui croient en la démocratie, à la liberté religieuse et à la coexistence civile.

Il n’y a aucune différence entre incendier une mosquée, une église, une synagogue ou un temple : chaque attaque de ce type est une attaque contre le cœur de notre civilisation européenne, fondée sur la pluralité pacifique et le respect de l’autre.

Rompre la chaîne du soupçon

À mon ami italien vivant en Espagne, qui m’a dit : « Les Espagnols ne veulent plus des immigrés parce qu’ils apportent du désordre », je réponds non pas avec colère, mais avec des faits.

La grande majorité des immigrés – y compris les musulmans – respectent les lois, travaillent, contribuent à l’économie et cherchent simplement une vie digne. Ils ne sont pas le problème. Bien au contraire, ils sont souvent une partie de la solution : aides-soignants, ouvriers, entrepreneurs, étudiants brillants.

À l’inverse, la propagande extrémiste – qu’elle vienne de ceux qui attaquent l’islam ou de ceux qui déforment son message pour justifier la violence – alimente la peur et la haine. Et c’est ainsi que la peur se transforme en violence. Et le silence, en incendie.

Nous construisons, nous ne brûlons pas

La Ligue Européenne Musulmane existe précisément pour cela : tisser des liens, ouvrir le dialogue, défendre les valeurs communes. Nous condamnons toute forme d’extrémisme et rappelons avec force que l’Europe ne peut pas se permettre de faire de la haine une stratégie politique.

Aux autorités espagnoles, nous demandons vérité, justice et protection pour tous les lieux de culte.

À la communauté musulmane, nous demandons fermeté et sagesse : ne tombons pas dans le piège de la vengeance ou de la méfiance généralisée.

Aux citoyens européens de toute foi et de toute culture, nous disons : marchons ensemble. Ne laissons pas quelques fanatiques détruire des siècles de civilisation partagée.

Une voix pour la paix

La haine divise. Le respect unit.

Les murs peuvent brûler. Les ponts doivent être construits.

Nous n’avons pas besoin de nouveaux coupables. Nous avons besoin de plus de conscience.

Nous n’avons pas besoin de nouveaux ennemis. Nous avons besoin de plus de voisins.

Que cet incendie, au lieu de tout détruire, nous rappelle combien la paix est précieuse.

Et combien il est de notre devoir, à tous, de la protéger chaque jour.

Hace pocos días, en la ciudad catalana de Piera, en España, una mezquita fue incendiada de manera deliberada, justo antes de su apertura al público. Afortunadamente, no hubo víctimas. Pero las llamas destruyeron mucho más que muros y alfombras: hirieron profundamente a una comunidad pacífica, sembraron miedo y, sobre todo, intentaron prender fuego a la convivencia misma.

Como Presidente de la Liga Musulmana Europea – organización europea inspirada en los valores del islam y comprometida con el diálogo y la cooperación entre los pueblos – no puedo permanecer en silencio.

Me dirijo con respeto a todos: musulmanes y cristianos, ateos y agnósticos, ciudadanos nacidos en Europa o venidos de otros lugares. ¿Por qué se incendia un lugar de culto? ¿Qué nos está ocurriendo?

Ninguna justificación para el odio

Sabemos que Europa atraviesa momentos difíciles. La crisis económica, los flujos migratorios, la sensación de inseguridad: todo ello genera frustración. Algunos, erróneamente, buscan chivos expiatorios. Pero la fe o la inmigración honesta jamás pueden ser el enemigo.

El incendio de una mezquita es un acto criminal, pero también simbólico. Es una señal peligrosa que debe alarmar no solo a los musulmanes, sino a todos aquellos que creen en la democracia, en la libertad religiosa y en la convivencia civil.

No hay diferencia entre incendiar una mezquita, una iglesia, una sinagoga o un templo: cada ataque de este tipo es un ataque al corazón de nuestra civilización europea, basada en la pluralidad pacífica y el respeto mutuo.

Rompamos la cadena de sospechas

A un amigo italiano que vive en España y me dijo: “Los españoles ya no quieren inmigrantes porque traen desorden”, le respondo no con ira, sino con hechos.

La gran mayoría de los inmigrantes – incluidos los musulmanes – respetan las leyes, trabajan, contribuyen a la economía y simplemente buscan una vida digna. No son el problema. De hecho, a menudo forman parte de la solución: cuidadores, obreros, emprendedores, estudiantes brillantes.

En cambio, la propaganda extremista – tanto la que ataca al islam como la que tergiversa su mensaje para justificar la violencia – alimenta el miedo y el odio. Así es como el temor se convierte en violencia. Y el silencio, en fuego.

Construimos, no destruimos

La Liga Musulmana Europea existe precisamente para esto: tejer relaciones, abrir el diálogo, defender los valores comunes. Condenamos toda forma de extremismo y reafirmamos que Europa no puede permitirse el odio como estrategia política.

A las autoridades españolas, les pedimos verdad, justicia y protección para todos los lugares de culto.

A la comunidad musulmana, le pedimos firmeza y sabiduría: no caigamos en la trampa de la venganza o de la desconfianza generalizada.

A los ciudadanos europeos de toda fe y cultura, les decimos: caminemos juntos. No dejemos que unos pocos fanáticos destruyan siglos de civilización compartida.

Una voz por la paz

El odio divide. El respeto une.

Los muros pueden arder. Los puentes deben construirse.

No necesitamos más culpables. Necesitamos más conciencia.

No necesitamos más enemigos. Necesitamos más vecinos.

Que este incendio, en lugar de destruir, nos recuerde lo valiosa que es la paz.

Y cuán importante es nuestra responsabilidad, de todos, protegerla cada día.

Perché si incendia un luogo di culto? Costruire ponti, non bruciarli

Pochi giorni fa, nella cittadina catalana di Piera, in Spagna, una moschea è stata incendiata con intento doloso, proprio mentre si preparava a essere aperta al pubblico. Fortunatamente, nessuna vita è andata persa. Ma le fiamme hanno bruciato molto più di mura e tappeti: hanno ferito il cuore di una comunità pacifica, seminato paura e, soprattutto, hanno cercato di incendiare la convivenza stessa.

Come Presidente della European Muslims League – organizzazione europea ispirata ai valori dell’Islam e impegnata nel dialogo e nella cooperazione tra i popoli – non posso restare in silenzio.

Mi rivolgo con rispetto a tutti: musulmani e cristiani, atei e agnostici, cittadini nati in Europa e cittadini arrivati da lontano. Perché si incendia un luogo di culto? Cosa ci sta succedendo?

Nessuna giustificazione all’odio

Siamo consapevoli che l'Europa sta vivendo momenti complessi. La crisi economica, i flussi migratori, l’insicurezza percepita: tutto questo genera frustrazione. Alcuni, sbagliando, cercano un capro espiatorio. Ma la religione o l’immigrazione onesta non possono mai essere il nemico.

L’incendio di una moschea è un atto criminale, ma anche simbolico. È un segnale pericoloso che deve preoccupare non solo i musulmani, ma tutti coloro che amano la democrazia, la libertà religiosa e la convivenza civile.

Non c’è differenza tra incendiare una moschea, una chiesa, una sinagoga o un tempio: ogni gesto del genere è un attacco al cuore della nostra civiltà europea, che si fonda sulla pluralità pacifica e sul rispetto dell’altro.

Fermiamo la catena del sospetto

A un amico italiano residente in Spagna che mi ha detto: “Gli spagnoli non vogliono più gli immigrati perché portano disordine”, rispondo con dati, non con rabbia. La maggioranza degli immigrati – musulmani inclusi – rispetta le leggi, lavora, contribuisce all’economia e cerca soltanto una vita dignitosa. Non sono loro il problema. Anzi, in tanti casi sono parte attiva della soluzione: badanti, operai, imprenditori, studenti eccellenti.

Invece, la propaganda estremista – sia quella di chi attacca l’Islam, sia quella di chi ne distorce il messaggio per giustificare la violenza – alimenta il sospetto e l’odio. E così si passa dalla paura alla violenza. Dal silenzio al fuoco.

Noi costruiamo, non bruciamo

La European Muslims League esiste proprio per questo: tessere relazioni, aprire il dialogo, proteggere i valori comuni. Condanniamo ogni forma di estremismo e ribadiamo con forza che l’Europa non può permettersi l’odio come politica pubblica.

Alle autorità spagnole chiediamo verità, giustizia e protezione per tutti i luoghi di culto. Alla comunità musulmana chiediamo fermezza e saggezza: non cadere nella trappola della vendetta o della sfiducia generalizzata. Ai cittadini europei di ogni fede e cultura chiediamo: camminiamo insieme. Non lasciamo che pochi fanatici rovinino secoli di civiltà condivisa.

Una voce per la pace

L'odio divide. Il rispetto unisce.

I muri possono bruciare. I ponti si costruiscono.

Non servono più colpevoli. Serve più coscienza.

Non servono più nemici. Servono più vicini.

Che questo incendio, invece di distruggere, ci ricordi quanto è preziosa la pace. E quanto sia nostra responsabilità, di tutti, difenderla ogni giorno.

What does good citizenship mean in a country like Sweden?

In a country built on the values of welfare, freedom, and equality, good citizenship should mean genuine belonging to the nation—regardless of skin color, ethnicity, or religion. It means abiding by the law, contributing to the development of society, and working for the good of the country that has granted everyone safety and dignity.

Today, however, with new legislative proposals supported by the far-right nationalist party SD, growing concern is spreading among citizens of foreign background. There is talk of tightening citizenship laws and perhaps even reopening old files at the Migration Agency, digging into the past to find mistakes that could be used as a pretext to revoke the citizenship of individuals or entire families.

What happens if one or both parents lose their citizenship?

Will their children’s citizenship be revoked too?

Will families be split up?

Will we see children taken from their parents in the name of “legal sovereignty”?

And will we remain silent if the concept of citizenship turns into a suspended sentence—a sword hanging over the heads of those not born on this land, or those who once made a mistake and were later allowed to start anew?

Where are the voices of the opposition?

Where are the Social Democrats, who once raised the banner of solidarity?

Is it not their duty to defend our children—those born here, educated here, who speak our language and know Sweden as their only homeland?

Citizenship cannot be measured solely by official records, but must also be measured by the individual’s intent, behavior, and contribution to the protection and building of the nation.

Is it fair to judge a young man or woman today based on past mistakes, when they now study, work, and dream of a future in this society?

Good citizenship does not distinguish between "native" and "immigrant"—it unites all under one flag: we are all children of this nation.

It is a mutual commitment between the individual and the state: just as the citizen is expected to respect the laws and values of the country, the state must guarantee legal security, human dignity, and protection from discrimination, as enshrined in the Swedish Constitution (Regeringsformen), the European Convention on Human Rights, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

It is unjust to make honest citizens pay the price for others’ mistakes. Each person is responsible for their own actions, not those of others.

Yes, we must fight gangs, drugs, and strengthen crime prevention—but this cannot be achieved by weakening people’s trust in their country or by threatening families with the loss of citizenship.

It is achieved by rooting belonging, promoting justice, and encouraging collaboration among all citizens.

Protecting Sweden is not done through exclusion, but through inclusion.

Good citizenship is not built on fear, but on hope, justice, and second chances.

Let us raise our children to love this country, not to fear it.

Let us build together a future that excludes no one—regardless of name, background, or past.

Because this country belongs to all of us, justice is indivisible, and good citizenship is our shared path toward safety and stability.

ما معنى المواطنة الصالحة في دولة مثل السويد؟

في دولة بُنيت على قيم 

الرفاهية، الحرية، والمساواة، ينبغي أن تعني “المواطنة الصالحة” الانتماء الحقيقي للوطن، بغضّ النظر عن اللون أو العرق أو الدين. إنها الالتزام بالقانون، والمشاركة في بناء المجتمع، والعمل من أجل خير هذا البلد الذي منح الجميع الأمان والكرامة.

لكن اليوم، ومع ما يُطرح من مشاريع قوانين جديدة بدعم من حزب القوميين المتطرف  SD، نشهد قلقاً متزايداً بين المواطنين من أصول أجنبية. هنالك حديث عن تشديد قوانين الجنسية، وربما حتى فتح ملفات قديمة لدى مصلحة الهجرة، والتنقيب في الماضي بحثاً عن أخطاء قد تُستخدم ذريعة لسحب الجنسية من أفراد أو أسر بأكملها.

فماذا يحدث إذا فقد أحد الوالدين – أو كلاهما – جنسيته؟

هل تُسحب الجنسية من الأطفال أيضاً؟

هل تُقسّم العائلات؟

هل نرى أطفالاً يُنتزعون من ذويهم باسم “السيادة القانونية”؟

وهل سنقف صامتين إذا تحوّل مبدأ المواطنة إلى عقوبة مؤجلة، وسيف مسلط على رقاب كل من لم يُولد على هذه الأرض، أو من ارتكب خطأ وسُجن ثم سُمح له ببدء حياة جديدة؟

أين صوت أحزاب المعارضة؟

أين الاشتراكيون الذين رفعوا شعار التضامن يوماً؟

أليس من واجبهم الدفاع عن أبنائنا الذين وُلدوا هنا، وتعلموا هنا، ويتحدثون لغتنا، ويعرفون السويد وطناً لا وطن غيره؟

لا يمكن أن تُقاس المواطنة الصالحة فقط بالسجلات، بل يجب أن تقاس بنية الإنسان وسلوكه ومشاركته في حماية الوطن وبنائه. هل من العدل أن يُحاسب الشاب أو الفتاة على أخطاء ماضية رغم أنهم اليوم يدرسون، يعملون، ويحلمون بمستقبل داخل هذا المجتمع؟

المواطنة الصالحة لا تفرق بين “أصيل” و”وافد”، بل توحّد الجميع تحت راية واحدة: نحن أبناء هذا الوطن.

هي التزام متبادل بين الفرد والدولة، فكما يُطلب من المواطن أن يلتزم بالقوانين ويحترم القيم، يجب على الدولة أن تضمن له الأمن القانوني، والكرامة الإنسانية، والحق في عدم التمييز وفقاً لما ينص عليه الدستور السويدي (Regeringsformen) والاتفاقية الأوروبية لحقوق الإنسان واتفاقية حقوق الطفل.

وليس من العدل أن يُحمّل المواطن الصالح وزر من أساء، فكل فرد مسؤول عن أفعاله، لا عن أفعال الآخرين.

نعم، يجب محاربة العصابات، ومكافحة المخدرات، وتشديد الرقابة على الجريمة – لكن ذلك لا يتحقق بإضعاف ثقة الناس في دولتهم، ولا عبر تهديد العائلات بسحب جنسيتها، بل عبر تجذير الانتماء، وتعزيز العدالة، والعمل المشترك بين جميع المواطنين.

إن حماية السويد لا تكون بالإقصاء، بل بالاحتواء.

ولا تتحقق المواطنة الصالحة بالخوف، بل بالأمل، بالعدل، وبالفرصة الثانية.

دعونا نُربّي أبناءنا على حب هذا الوطن، لا الخوف منه.

دعونا نبني معًا مستقبلًا لا يُقصي أحدًا بسبب اسمه، أو أصله، أو ماضيه.

فالوطن للجميع، والعدالة لا تُجزّأ، والمواطنة الصالحة طريقنا المشترك نحو الأمن والاستقرار.

The Academia ICCP is Born: Culture, Diplomacy and the Recognition of Human Excellence

The European Muslims League (EML ONG) is proud to officially announce the establishment of the Academia ICCP – Private Institute and Academy of Higher Studies, a cultural and educational initiative aimed at promoting international cooperation, the value of knowledge, and the symbolic recognition of human excellence in the fields of science, peace and development.

The Academia ICCP is a direct project of the International Council for Cooperation and Peace (ICCP), created under the auspices of the EML ONG. Its legal headquarters are in Genoa, Italy, and it is officially registered with the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance – Revenue Agency.

International-Level Accreditation

The Academia ICCP is officially accredited by the International Parliament for Safety and Peace – World Organization of States (IPSP-WOS), an intergovernmental organization recognized at the international level, legally registered in Switzerland and holding international legal personality and extraterritorial status in Italy.

Thanks to this prestigious recognition, the Academia ICCP operates in full compliance with the highest international standards in the fields of education, ethics, and culture.

Honorary Doctorates and Moral Distinctions

The Academia ICCP is not a state university and does not issue legally qualifying academic degrees. However, by virtue of its affiliation with an intergovernmental organization, it is authorized to confer symbolic honorary titles, including the prestigious Doctor Honoris Causa.

These titles are awarded to distinguished individuals who have demonstrated exceptional merit in the scientific, humanitarian, moral or diplomatic fields. The conferment is decided by the Board of Directors following a careful evaluation process.
