The Global Crisis of Human Conscience

We live in an age of extraordinary technological progress and instant communication, yet humanity seems to have lost its moral compass. Wars multiply, poverty increases, and millions of people are forced to leave their homes, while indifference has become a global habit. Today, more than fifty-five armed conflicts are taking place across the world; recent studies indicate nearly sixty state-based wars — the highest number since the end of the Second World War.

In this reality of suffering and confusion, the values of mercy and solidarity — deeply rooted in Islam and shared by all Abrahamic faiths — are too often forgotten. When the pain of nations no longer moves our hearts, when the suffering of children no longer shakes our conscience, it is a sign that the crisis we face is not only political but also profoundly spiritual.

The European Muslims League calls upon believers, institutions, and communities of all faiths to rediscover the power of compassion, justice, and human brotherhood. In the Holy Qur’an, Allah reminds us that “whoever saves one life, it is as if he had saved all mankind.” This is the essence of our mission: not to remain indifferent, but to act for goodness, for peace, and for the dignity of every human being.

True security can only arise from justice and cooperation. Peace is not merely the absence of war, but the presence of mercy, hope, and collective responsibility. The EML therefore invites all Muslim communities in Europe and beyond to unite in prayer and in action to restore the centrality of human values in our modern societies.

The world does not need new weapons — it needs new hearts capable of seeing in others not enemies, but brothers.
